Detailed Description
Apple's Thunderbolt 3 (USB-C) to Thunderbolt 2 Converter lets you connect 2 Thunderbolt and Thunderbolt 2 devices - such as external hard drives and Thunderbolt docks - to any Thunderbolt 3 (USB-C) port on your MacBook Pro .
As a bi-directional adapter, it can even connect new Thunderbolt 3 devices to a Mac with Thunderbolt or Thunderbolt port 2 and MacOS Sierra.
In addition, it can be used to connect a Thunderbolt display - such as the Apple Thunderbolt Display and the LG Thunderbolt 2 - to any Thunderbolt 3 (USB-C) port on your MacBook Pro. However, using this adapter with an Apple Thunderbolt Display requires external power, as the display does not draw power through the converter.
Note: This adapter does not support DisplayPort displays such as the Apple LED Cinema Display or third-party DisplayPort and Mini DisplayPort displays.
