In September 2024, Apple launched the fourth-generation AirPods 4 with Active Noise Cancellation (ANC), introducing a refined open-ear design, the H2 chip for enhanced audio processing, and—for the ANC model—a charging case that supports wireless charging and includes a built-in speaker for Find My integration. The AirPods 4 also introduced new hearing health features, including enhanced Conversation Boost and support for audiogram-based sound customization, offering meaningful benefits for users who are hard of hearing. In all other respects, the AirPods 4 with ANC share the same design and features as the non-ANC AirPods 4.
