AirPods 5 bring Active Noise Cancellation to the open-ear design, and they come in two versions: AirPods 5, and AirPods 5 with Wireless Charging Case. Both models frature a redesigned multi-port acoustic architecture and advanced computational audio block up to 1.5x more noise than the previous generation. Transparency mode lets voices and nearby sounds through more naturally, while Adaptive Audio blends the two in real time as your surroundings change. And when you start speaking, Conversation Awareness lowers the volume of what you're playing, then brings it back as soon as you're done.

The sound itself has been rebuilt. Next-generation Adaptive EQ tunes audio to the shape of your ears across a wider range of frequencies, and Personalised Spatial Audio with dynamic head tracking places music, films and games all around you. Behind that sit a custom high-excursion driver and a high dynamic range amplifier, along with a vent system that equalises pressure in the ear.

Both models are powered by the H2 chip. Dual beam-forming microphones keep calls clear, Voice Isolation cuts background noise in loud or windy conditions, and studio-quality audio recording is built in for when you want to capture something properly. Siri AI gives you hands-free access to a more capable, more personal assistant on your iPhone, so you can ask open-ended questions, brainstorm or hold a full conversation. Live Translation turns what someone says in another language into your own, and with Siri Interactions you can answer Siri by nodding or shaking your head.

Everyday handling is simple. A force sensor on the stem manages playback and calls: press once to play, pause or answer, twice to skip forward, three times to skip back, and press and hold to switch listening modes. An optical in-ear sensor and accelerometers pause playback when you take an earbud out, and AirPods 5 pair with every device on your Apple Account. Find My helps you track them down if they go missing. Each earbud weighs 4.3 grams, connects over Bluetooth 5.3, and carries an IP57 rating for dust, sweat and water resistance. Five minutes in the case gives you around an hour of listening.

AirPods 5 come with a USB-C Charging Case, and deliver up to 4 hours of playback with Active Noise Cancellation on a single charge, or up to 20 hours with the case.

AirPods 5 with Wireless Charging Case add a force sensor with volume swipe, so you can adjust volume by swiping up or down the stem. Battery life rises to 5 hours on a charge and 22 hours with the case, which tops up over USB-C, an Apple Watch charger or any Qi-certified charger. It also holds a speaker, letting Find My play a sound to help you locate it.
